Your Website is Like a House:
The 3 Essentials You Need to Keep It Standing

If you’ve never set up a website before, the terms domain, hosting, and platform can sound like a foreign language.
The good news is you don’t need to be fluent in tech-speak to understand the basics. Knowing these three essentials early will make your website journey smoother and help you avoid surprises later.
The easiest way to picture them is to think of your website as a beautiful new home.
Domain = The Numbers on Your Mailbox
Your domain name (like yourbusiness.com) is your address on the internet.
It’s what people type in to find you, just like house numbers guide visitors to your front door.
Without a domain, your site has no way for people to get there, even if it exists.
Hosting = The Foundation
Hosting is the service that keeps your website online and available to visitors around the clock.
It stores all your images, text, and code on secure servers so your site is ready whenever someone comes to visit.
No foundation, no house.
No hosting, no functioning website.
Platform (Webflow) = The Frame
The platform is the structure and design system your site is built on.
In my builds, that’s Webflow. It’s the frame, walls, and layout that give your site its look, flow, and personality.
Without the platform, you might have an address and a foundation, but nothing to actually walk into.
Why All Three Matter
All three are essential:
- Without hosting, your site can’t function.
- Without a domain, no one can find it.
- Without the platform, there’s no structure or design to bring it to life.
How I Make It Easy
When we work together, I set up and connect all three for you.
You don’t have to juggle multiple accounts, figure out what goes where, or remember renewal dates. I handle those details so your “website house” stays in perfect working order.
That means you can focus on the fun part- watching your vision take shape online and welcoming visitors into a space that feels completely yours.
